Who we are
ReadyCiv is operated by Skill5 Inc., a Delaware corporation, United States. This policy covers the ReadyCiv app on iPhone and Android, the web app at app.readyciv.com, and this website. The version the app itself shows, at app.readyciv.com/legal/readyciv/privacy, is the same contract. Questions about it go through our contact form.
What we collect
- Account data: your email address when you create an account. A guest account has no email until you link one.
- Learning data: lesson progress, quiz answers, points, streaks and daily activity, stored so your learning continues across devices.
- Preferences: the areas you select and your daily goal.
- Device basics: your timezone, used for streaks, and the app version, used for support.
- Programme data: if you run a programme for an agency or organisation, its name and the email addresses of the people you invite, so we can grant them access and show you their progress.
We do not sell personal data, we do not show third-party advertising, and we do not build profiles of you for anyone else. An agency that offers ReadyCiv to its residents sees programme-level progress, never the answers of one named person beyond what that person shares by joining.
This website
This website sets no cookies and runs no analytics. If you write to us through the contact form, we keep the message for as long as it takes to answer it and for our records of that conversation.
Where it is processed
Your data is stored with our hosting providers, Cloudflare and our database provider, and processed only to provide the service. Our providers act on our instructions and hold the data in data centres that may be outside your country; where that happens, we rely on the safeguards those providers offer for international transfers.
Payments are handled by third parties and we never see your card details:
- Purchases on the web are processed by Paddle, which acts as the merchant of record and handles your payment details under its own privacy policy.
- Purchases inside the apps are processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play under their own policies. We receive a confirmation that a subscription is active, not your payment information.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of the data we hold about you, or ask us to correct it, through our contact form. You can delete your account and everything associated with it at any time, either from the profile screen in the app or through our account deletion page. Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to restrict or object to how we use your data and to complain to a data protection authority; we will honour those rights as the law requires.
Retention
Learning data is kept while your account exists and deleted with it. Anonymised usage statistics that cannot be linked to a deleted account may be retained. Records we must keep by law, such as invoices, are kept for the period the law sets.
Children
ReadyCiv is made for adults and the households they look after. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16. If you believe a child has created an account, tell us and we will delete it.
Changes
We will update this page when this policy changes. If a change matters to you, we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect.
